I share the frustration of Kathryn Joosten. After the sea of pink in October, how many even know that November is National Cancer Awareness Month? More people die from Lung Cancer each year than the next three types of cancer combined.

Was your cancer completely random, or induced by an increased exposure to carcinogens (i.e. smoking or other carcinogenic chemicals)?
The origin of my lung cancer has not been identified. I am a non-smoker and am not aware of any significant exposure to carcinogenic chemicals. I do have the ALK gene - which is a gene targeted by new study drugs. I have been on Crizotinib. It has been very successful for me. It is now FDA approved as Xalkori.
